Football Recap: Omaha Westside Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Braylen Warren and Tay Tay Jenkins

Omaha Westside blew Omaha Central out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Omaha Central got their revenge. The Warriors fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 31-28. The close contest was extra heartbreaking for the Warriors, who almost overcame a 21 point deficit.

Tay Tay Jenkins and Braylen Warren certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Jenkins gained 272 total yards and three touchdowns, while Warren threw for 294 yards and three touchdowns. Jenkins' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 14th straight game with at least 108 rushing yards dating back to last season.

It was another big night for B.J. Newsome, who threw for 153 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 109 yards for Omaha Central. Those 109 rushing yards gave Newsome a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Omaha Westside fell to 4-1. As for Omaha Central, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
