Softball Recap: Brookville's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Brookville lost against Arcanum back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue Devils fell 9-4 to the Trojans.

Grace Burton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Brookville saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maya Haydon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Abby Lucous also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Brookville's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4. As for Arcanum, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Brookville will square off against Dixie at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Greyhounds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.75 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Arcanum, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Carlisle at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
