Hough waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Mecklenburg Hawks a 16-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-0 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Maylee Stroupe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Alicia Cobham was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Stroupe wasn't the only one making solid contact: Hough kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Hough's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for West Mecklenburg, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Hough will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against West Charlotte at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for West Mecklenburg, they are taking a road trip to take on Ashbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks are facing the Greenwave at the right time seeing as the Greenwave are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
