Volleyball Recap: York Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

York hadn't done well against Glenbard West recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Dukes had just enough and edged out the Hilltoppers 2-1. For the Dukes, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Hilltoppers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day York got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-22.

Hunter Stepanich paced York's offense, picking up 19 kills. Stepanich got some help from Carson Cruver and his 36 assists. Finally, Joe McGreal and Leo Nardini kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

York pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Glenbard West, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, York will take on Lincoln-Way East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glenbard West, they will challenge Naperville Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hilltoppers are facing the Redhawks at the right time seeing as the Redhawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
