Football Game Preview: Harlandale Indians vs. McCollum Cowboys

Harlandale is 8-2 against McCollum since November of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians will welcome the Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. Harlandale will be strutting in after a win while McCollum will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Harlandale turned things around against Veterans Memorial on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over the Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since September 19, 2024.

Unyces Cestou Garcia looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 51 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 90 yards and a pair of TDs. Gio Silva helped out on the ground, rushing for 108 yards.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for McCollum's offense. They were beaten by Boerne 42-0 on Thursday. The Cowboys just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Harlandale's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for McCollum, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
