The Leroy Greene Academy Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Delta Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Leroy Greene Academy put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They never let Elite get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Philip Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Leroy Greene Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 3-6 otherwise. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Maison Wunder was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Robert Callahan, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Leroy Greene Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .684. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Delta, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over Esparto on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.
Like Leroy Greene Academy, Delta also got a great game from a two-way player: Spencer Buckley. Throwing, Buckley didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Chase Parkinson pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Buckley has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Buckley scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Parkinson scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Buckley has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Max Danila was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Cole Hutson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
Leroy Greene Academy's record is now 5-7. As for Delta, their record now sits at 4-5.
Leroy Greene Academy took their win against Delta in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saints turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
