Football Recap: Southeast Lauderdale Takes a Loss

Southeast Lauderdale played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 43-6 loss at the hands of the Union Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 64th).

Myilan Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Union, rushing for 68 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, while also throwing for 160 yards and one TD while completing 83.3% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Moore a new career-high in passer rating (163.2). Quinn Harris was another key player, rushing for 73 yards and one score on only six carries.

Southeast Lauderdale's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Union, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Southeast Lauderdale has already played their next game, a 35-0 defeat against Quitman on the 24th. As for Union, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-7 win against St. Andrew's Episcopal on the 24th.
