Western Plains came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Pawnee Heights, but Abby Hands wouldn't allow it. The Pawnee Heights Tigers walked away with a 42-33 victory over the Western Plains Bobcats on Monday which was due in part to Hands, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pawnee Heights' points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Hammeke, who posted seven points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

When it comes to explaining why Western Plains lost, don't look at Madelyn Kraus. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. The game was Kraus' fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Chloe Briand, who earned three points and nine boards.

Pawnee Heights has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-15 record this season. Western Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Western Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
