Soccer Game Preview: Wekiva vs. Lyman

Wekiva hasn't had much luck against Lyman recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wekiva Mustangs will take on the Lyman Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m.

Wekiva is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Monday. They lost 4-0 to Pine Ridge.

Meanwhile, Lyman had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They never let the Titans onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory.

Natalie Rowen and Keira Shanahan scored both of Lyman's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

Lyman has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those eight games. As for Wekiva, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Wekiva came up short against Lyman when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Wekiva avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
