Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madison Academy). They were the clear victors by a 72-49 margin over Oakwood Academy on Monday. This was payback for Madison Academy, who suffered a 68-62 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Uriah Williams, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Jayson McCoy, who scored ten points.

Madison Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Oakwood Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Madison Academy will head out on the road to square off against Clay-Chalkville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oakwood Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Valley Head at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 78 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
