Granby will challenge Southwick Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Granby had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Jake Gagnon did his part to make it six on Thursday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over John J. Duggan Academy with plenty of help from Gagnon, who had eight aces and seven assists. Gagnon is crushing it when it comes to aces: he's served at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 25-14.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granby to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Walsh, who had seven assists and two aces. Daniel Santiago was another key player, getting five kills and two aces.
They weren't the only good server: Granby was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Southwick Regional got the win against Chicopee on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Southwick Regional never let Chicopee on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 25-18.
Southwick Regional's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Granby, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Granby has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 14.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Southwick Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Granby skirted past Southwick Regional 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Granby repeat their success, or does Southwick Regional has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
