Softball Recap: Terrebonne Comes Up Short

Terrebonne was the 12-7 winner over St. James when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Terrebonne took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. James on Friday. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

BRALYN DEHART put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, BRAILYNN BOUDREAUX made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was RILYN GRIFFIN, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Terrebonne's record is now 4-14. As for St. James, the victory snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 5-13 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Terrebonne will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Haynes Academy at 4:30 p.m. on April 7. As for St. James, a feisty cat fight will be fought as St. James Wildcats duke it out with E.D. White Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Their pitchers better be ready for this one: E.D. White has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
