Basketball Game Preview: Shenandoah Raiders vs. Faith Christian Eagles

The Shenandoah Raiders will square off against the Faith Christian Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Thursday, Shenandoah was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Franklin County.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Gabbi Patrick, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Lee, who had nine points and five steals.

Even though they lost, Shenandoah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 52-45 win over Rossville on Monday.

Shenandoah better keep an eye on Mattea Maggio. She was instrumental in Faith Christian's win, putting up 31 points. Those 31 points gave Maggio a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracyn Musick, who put up 11 points in addition to three steals and three blocks.

Shenandoah's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Faith Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Shenandoah has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 30.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Faith Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.2 rebounds.
