Basketball Recap: Peetz Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Thursday. Peetz were outmatched by Otis and fell 70-30. The loss continues a trend for Peetz in their matchups with Otis: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the defeat, Peetz saw an underclassman step up: freshman Nataleigh Kalb dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards. Kalb has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Otis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madelyn Willeke led the charge by going 14-for-19 on her way to 30 points and three steals. What's more, Willeke also posted a 74% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in March of 2024. Aedyn Tribelhorn was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten assists.

Peetz's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Otis, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Peetz didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 26-22 defeat against Front Range Baptist on the 14th. As for Otis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-44 victory against Lone Star on the 17th.
