Volleyball Recap: East Mecklenburg Has No Trouble Against Porter Ridge

East Mecklenburg barely beat Porter Ridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won four in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-21, 25-16.

Riley Ketterhagen was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had six digs and five aces.

Ketterhagen wasn't the only good server: East Mecklenburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 15 consecutive contests.

East Mecklenburg's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Porter Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Mecklenburg will face off against Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Porter Ridge, they will venture away from home to challenge Cuthbertson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
