Football Recap: Sickles Skates Past Wharton with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sickles). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Wharton Wildcats 38-0. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

One reason for the win was Sickles' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Aubrey Skinner and Caitlin Gano, who racked up four sacks between them.

The win (which was Sickles' fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.3 points on average over those games. As for Wharton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Sickles has already played their next contest, a 14-6 win against Freedom on the 3rd. As for Wharton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-7 victory against Blake on the 5th.
