Basketball Game Preview: Winchester Community Golden Falcons vs. Lapel Bulldogs

After both having extra time off, the Winchester Community Golden Falcons and the Lapel Bulldogs will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Saturday, Winchester Community was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Union County.

Meanwhile, Lapel waltzed into their game last Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 48-39 win over the Golden Bears.

Winchester Community better keep an eye on Laniah Wills. She was instrumental in Lapel's win, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 26 boards. The matchup was Wills' fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Lapel pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Winchester Community, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-6.

Winchester Community took a serious blow against Lapel in their previous meeting back in February, falling 62-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wills, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.
