Preview: Fayetteville Lions vs. Dime Box Longhorns
Fayetteville is 10-0 against Dime Box since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Fayetteville Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Dime Box Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Fayetteville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Fayetteville scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Buckholts 60-25 on the road. With Fayetteville ahead 37-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Fayetteville found their leader in underclassman Cambree Denham, who scored 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Denham has scored all season. Kayme Schley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Dime Box came up short against North Zulch on Friday and fell 50-37. Dime Box has not had much luck with North Zulch recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Fayetteville's win bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Dime Box, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Fayetteville against Dime Box in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 55-26 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fayetteville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
