Rouse waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They skirted past the Cedar Ridge Raiders 45-43. Given Rouse's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Cedar Ridge is ranked 680th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rouse's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Baldwin, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Baldwin a new career-high in blocks (three). Isaac Montgomery was another key player, putting up eight points along with five assists and three steals.

Rouse is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Cedar Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Rouse will be playing in front of their home fans against Leander at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rouse is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season. As for Cedar Ridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-34 loss against Anderson on the 28th.
