Softball Recap: Mt. Hope Huskies vs. Scituate Spartans
Mt. Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 21-7 to the Scituate Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mt. Hope of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2019.
Ava Waddell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Julia Allen was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
On Scituate's side, Isabella Defusco made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Defusco was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
