Recap: Patrician Academy Saints vs. Sparta Academy Warriors
The Patrician Academy Saints gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past Sparta Academy 71-44 at home. That's another feather in the cap for Patrician Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Robinson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Sam Cook was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Patrician Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Sparta Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patrician Academy will take on Wilcox Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilcox Academy will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Sparta Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Crenshaw Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. Crenshaw Christian Academy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
