Basketball Game Preview: Osborne Cardinals vs. South Cobb Eagles

Osborne is 2-8 against South Cobb since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Osborne Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the South Cobb Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Osborne is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Wednesday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Paulding County. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Patriots are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when South Cobb took on Pebblebrook on Tuesday. South Cobb fell 61-49 to Pebblebrook. The Eagles have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Osborne's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for South Cobb, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

Osborne ended up a good deal behind South Cobb when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 59-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of South Cobb's Donald McMillan, who went 7 for 14 en route to 23 points and eight boards.
