Pistons rookie led Mater Dei to 35-0 record along with state and national titles as senior.

Just two short years ago we were recognizing Stanley Johnson as the MaxPreps National Player of the Year.

Now the Pistons rookie is engaged in a spirited one-on-one with none other than LeBron James in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

James and Cleveland are in control of the series, but Johnson is controlling the narrative with some bold trash talk of The King. Johnson told Michael Lee of The Vertical:
I'm definitely in his head, that's for sure.
For those thinking Johnson is acting awfully brash for a rookie...well, that's probably true. But the Arizona one-and-doner has some pretty impressive credentials of his own.

The 6-foot-7 small forward went 135-7 with four state titles in four seasons at Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.). Johnson earned MaxPreps National Player of the Year honors as a senior, leading the Monarchs to a 35-0 record with state and national titles.
Stanley Johnson lost just seven games in four years at Mater Dei. He is already down two to Cleveland in the opening round of the NBA Eastern Conference playoffs.
