Recap: Peebles Indians vs. McClain Tigers
The Peebles Indians had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it 12 on Saturday. They came out on top against McClain by a score of 51-40. Given Peebles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Tigers are ranked 355th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Payton Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. Johnson is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caydence Carroll, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Peebles pushed their record up to 16-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for McClain, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peebles will square off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for McClain, they will head out on the road to challenge the Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Logan Elm is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
