Volleyball Recap: Newark Takes a Loss

Newark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dublin Scioto Irish. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Irish from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Newark actually scored more points across those five sets (101-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-21, 12-25, 25-14, 18-25, 18-16.

Newark's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newark will square off against Hayes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dublin Scioto, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge Briggs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
