Basketball Recap: Pontiac Takes a Loss

Pontiac was the 60-49 winner over Normal West when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pontiac Indians took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Normal West Wildcats on Saturday.

Among those leading the charge was Maliq Givens-Smith, who posted 16 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Michael Zaleski, who earned 12 points.

Pontiac's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Normal West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-15.

Pontiac will head out to challenge Illinois Valley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Normal West, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Normal West Wildcats challenge the Peoria Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
