Basketball Recap: Lisle Takes a Loss

Lisle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 66-56 to Southland College Prep. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten points.

Leading Southland College Prep to victory were Shaunn Cooper Jr. and David Shaw. Cooper Jr. dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 boards, while Shaw posted 24 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Shaw's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tristan Garner was another key player, putting up ten points and eight rebounds.

Lisle's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Southland College Prep, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lisle Lions face off against the Beecher Bobcats at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southland College Prep, they will venture away from home to take on Nazareth Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
