Basketball Game Preview: Niceville Eagles vs. Booker T. Washington Wildcats

Niceville hasn't had much luck against Booker T. Washington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Niceville Eagles will take on the Booker T. Washington Wildcats in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Niceville came up short against Fort Walton Beach and fell 47-39.

Niceville might have lost, but man, Carson Fayard was a machine: she posted 15 points and eight boards. The contest was Fayard's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anabelle Shackelford, who had seven points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Niceville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Booker T. Washington on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Pine Forest out of the water with a 55-15 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-9.

Niceville's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Booker T. Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Niceville came up short against Booker T. Washington in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 33-29. Can Niceville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
