Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfield Union). Their defense stepped up to hand the Zane Trace Pioneers a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for Fairfield Union, who have now won five contests by four goals or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Fairfield Union and bumps their season record up to 8-2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those two matches. As for Zane Trace, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8-2.
