Softball Recap: Silverdale Academy Beats Columbia Academy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Silverdale Academy waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Columbia Academy Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Seahawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Airebis Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emry Masterson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylee Raby, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Silverdale Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Silverdale Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Columbia Academy, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Silverdale Academy beat the Bulldogs by a score of 5-0 later that day.
