Baseball Recap: Coalgate Wildcats vs. Rejoice Christian Eagles

Coalgate waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Rejoice Christian Eagles by a score of 11-7.

Dax Childers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Childers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Coalgate: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 11-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, Easton Loudermilk was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Francis, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Coalgate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rejoice Christian only posted an OBP of .382.

Coalgate's record is now 16-14. As for Rejoice Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-16.

As of now, neither Coalgate nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
