Basketball Recap: Jasper Comes Up Short

Jasper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a hard 58-41 fall against the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1230th, while the Bears are ranked 416th).

Jasper's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, their win bumped their record up to 22-7.

Jasper will take on West Orange-Stark at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bridge City at 6:30 p.m. Bridge City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Little Cypress-Mauriceville likes a good challenge.
