Soccer Recap: Ponca City Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Ponca City was not quite Union's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Redhawks by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, Ponca City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Union are ranked first).

Ponca City's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Union, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Coming up, Ponca City will take on East Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Central's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Ponca City's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Union, they will face off against Sapulpa at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Union are facing Sapulpa at the right time seeing as Sapulpa are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
