Softball Game Preview: Crestline Bulldogs vs. Lucas Cubs

Crestline is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Thursday. They will face off against the Lucas Cubs at 5:00 p.m. Crestline is looking for their season's first victory.

Crestline is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Plymouth on Wednesday, falling 18-11.

LaVanna Sanders was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She also put up three RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tori Kapp, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Lucas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-4 to Northmor.

Destiny Foss made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Crestline's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Lucas, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Crestline skirted past Lucas 4-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
