Northwest is 7-2 against Springfield since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Northwest Vikings will take on the Springfield Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Northwest is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Northwest lost to Rossview at home by a 43-29 margin. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Hawks are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, Springfield hadn't done well against Station Camp recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Springfield secured a 59-54 W over Station Camp. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellow Jackets.

Northwest better focus on containing Xavionna Farmer and Taleah Patterson as the pair were huge in Springfield's win. Farmer went 7 of 13 on her way to 16 points and four steals, while Patterson went 7 of 13 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. Patterson is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Camoni Gray, who posted 14 points.

Springfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Springfield, their record is now 10-6.

Northwest couldn't quite finish off Springfield when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 43-41. Can Northwest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
