Basketball Recap: DSST: College View Takes a Loss

The matchup between DSST: College View and DSST: Cedar on Tuesday hardly resembled the 30-19 effort from their previous meeting. The DSST: College View Wolves were dealt an 84-29 loss at the hands of the DSST: Cedar Falcons. The Wolves have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why DSST: College View lost, don't look at Da'Naiya Hickey. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. That was a full 62.1% of DSST: College View's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Aaliya Brown, who earned three points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead DSST: Cedar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raniya Paul, who scored 17 points and five steals. Paul is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Paul, who had 13 points and five steals.

DSST: College View's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4. As for DSST: Cedar, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.

DSST: College View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 30-27 win against DSST: Conservatory Green on the 17th. DSST: Cedar has also already played their next match, a 50-43 loss against The Vanguard School on the 15th.
