Baseball Recap: Father Ryan Comes Up Short

Father Ryan's last matchup with Briarcrest Christian could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Irish came up short against the Saints, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Irish have suffered since April 16th.

Father Ryan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kellen Stevens, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Father Ryan and nudges their season record down to 17-16. As for Briarcrest Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Saints beat Father Ryan by a score of 5-4 later that day.
