Mesa Vista hasn't had much luck against McCurdy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will head out to challenge the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. Mesa Vista has given up an average of 18.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when McCurdy took on Penasco on Thursday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 21-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 11 matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Cruz Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Ethan Bolton was a standout: he went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. McCurdy pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.4 runs over those games. As for Mesa Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
Mesa Vista might still be hurting after the 24-0 loss they got from McCurdy when the teams last played on April 10th. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
