Baseball Recap: Hallsville Comes Up Short

Hallsville and Lovejoy squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hallsville had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-2 to the Leopards, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bobcats have struggled against the Leopards recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Hallsville's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Lovejoy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.

Hallsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lovejoy, they will challenge The Colony on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Leopards 2.5, the Cougars 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
