Softball Recap: Mcdaniel Wins Going Away Against Cleveland

After losing to Cleveland the last time they met, McDaniel decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mountain Lions put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 15-2 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountain Lions.

Izzy Hale was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. Hale was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jesse Brill, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Ava Wentela also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

McDaniel's record now sits at 3-5. As for Cleveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, McDaniel will be playing at home against Grant at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cleveland, they will head out on the road to challenge Newberg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
