Baseball Recap: Mission San Jose Comes Up Short

Mission San Jose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Irvington Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Wednesday.

Mission San Jose's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Irvington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Coming up, Mission San Jose will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Newark Memorial at 4:00 p.m. Newark Memorial's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Mission San Jose's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Irvington, they will square off against Mt. Eden at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Eden will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Irvington surely won't give up without a fight.
