Basketball Game Preview: Ursuline Fighting Irish vs. Salem Quakers

The Ursuline Fighting Irish will face off against the Salem Quakers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Ursuline is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering West Branch just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. The game between them and the Warriors didn't end well, with Ursuline falling 43-29. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Warriors are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, Salem was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 50-46 to Marlington. The Quakers haven't had much luck with the Dukes recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Ursuline's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
