Volleyball Preview: Warde Mustangs vs. McMahon Senators
On Saturday Warde will have to hit the road after seven straight games at home. They will venture away from home to take on the McMahon Senators at 11:00 a.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Warde is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 19th on Wednesday. They came up short against Stamford, falling 3-0.
While Warde was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22, 25-21.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, McMahon's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of St. Joseph by a score of 3-2.
McMahon actually scored more points across those five sets (100-91), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 12-25, 25-20, 14-25, 15-10.
Warde's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for McMahon, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Warde was able to grind out a solid victory over McMahon in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Warde since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
