Basketball Game Preview: West Chicago Wildcats vs. Aurora East Tomcats

The West Chicago Wildcats will take on the Aurora East Tomcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Chicago has three straight victories, Aurora East has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, West Chicago got the win against Fenton by a conclusive 50-26. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Aurora East was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 50-45 to Streamwood. While losing is never fun, the Tomcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Sabres are ranked 232nd).

West Chicago pushed their record up to 20-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for Aurora East, their loss dropped their record down to 3-21.
