Baseball Game Preview: Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos vs. Heritage Hawks

The Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos will venture away from home to take on the Heritage Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cerro Gordo/Bement has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cerro Gordo/Bement is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They came up short against Okaw Valley, falling 11-4.

K Somers was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arthur-Okaw Christian.

Heritage saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Happ, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Cerro Gordo/Bement's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Cerro Gordo/Bement was able to grind out a solid win over Heritage when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
