Preview: Beatrice vs. Seward
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Seward. On Friday they will take on Beatrice at 7:00 PM. Beatrice will need to watch out since Seward have now posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
If Seward were riding high off their 55-10 takedown of Hastings two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. It was close but no cigar for Seward as they fell 40-42 to York last Friday. Seward's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Joseph Krause, who passed for 404 yards and 4 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Krause's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past eight games.
Meanwhile, Beatrice fought the good fight in their overtime match but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and Hastings were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered an agonizing 30-31 loss.
Having both suffered close losses, both of these teams will no doubt be fighting for every inch to win this one. With a combined 954 yards in their previous games, we can expect a fast-paced contest.
