Nunes made his presence known in Amador's 11-6 victory
While Tuesday's victory was certainly a team effort, someone pulling more than their own weight was underclassman Michael Nunes. Sonora had no answer to Nunes on Tuesday as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
Nunes' strong effort led Amador over Sonora and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nunes has dominated as far as walks are concerned (he's averaged 0.5 per game this season), but he's got his work cut out for him considering Sonora has only allowed 3.44 per game this season.
