Baseball Game Preview: Sierra Canyon Trailblazers vs. Kennedy Cougars

The Sierra Canyon Trailblazers will take on the Kennedy Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra Canyon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Kennedy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sierra Canyon's offense. They fell just short of Paraclete by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Trailblazers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kennedy took on San Fernando on Monday. The Cougars won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 24th.

The team relied heavily on Anthony Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

The victory made it two in a row for Kennedy and bumps their season record up to 5-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Sierra Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
