Grovetown is 9-1 against Lakeside since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Warriors will get right back to it and host the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Grovetown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Lakeside likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Grovetown beat Archer 62-54. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Tigers are ranked 301st).

Meanwhile, Lakeside played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Fox Creek and fell 98-57. The Panthers were down 67-38 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Grovetown pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points over those games. As for Lakeside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Grovetown strolled past Lakeside in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 69-51. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Panthers' Michael Youngblood, who posted 20 points and six boards. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for the Warriors to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
