Baseball Recap: Justin-Siena Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Justin-Siena dropped their record down to 18-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell 7-2 to the American Canyon Wolves. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Braves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Justin-Siena saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Malloy, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

As for American Canyon, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-13. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On American Canyon's side, Dylan Brown made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave Brown a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Matias Garcia and Royce Hall did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Hall went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Garcia a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andre Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Justin-Siena is set to take on their familiar foe Casa Grande at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Braves 2.8, the Gauchos 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, American Canyon will face off against rival Petaluma at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
